OFA Tavern

The OFA Tavern opened for business on the evening of 10th August, 2007 after the cutting of the ceremonial ribbon by our president, Mr Johnny Ooi. A lion dance was also in attendance. Two of our members, Mr Gerald Clyde and Ms Stacy Tan, sang several classic numbers to enliven the evening, accompanied by Mr Melvin Clyde on the keyboard.

The Durian Party

07-07-07 was an auspicious day,
And O.F.A. celebrated it in an unusual way.
It was a Durian Party at Balik Pulau,
A bus-load was expected but only 19 turned up, somehow.

The small number was due to the lack of communication,
When no circulars were sent to all the members for their participation.
It took about an hour to reach the old manor,
And the durians were devoured in an unceremonious manner.

SOCCER:

On 24th November, 2007 OFA played a friendly with Team Orange at Free School ground. We emerged victorious with the score 2-0 full time.

Indoor Games

The indoor games section is one of the most popular in the club, where most members can be found congregating in the evenings to indulge in either a round of billiards or table games. On Sunday afternoons, chess enthusiasts can be found at the library participating in blitz tournaments or gamely taking on our not-so-old Free national chess champion, Jonathan Chuah, in simultaneous games.
